Departure from Tbilisi early in the morning, to the direction of Gareja desert (driving distance 100 km). David Gareja is one of the most important Georgian orthodox monastery complex. The complex was established in the 6 th century by David, one of the thirteen Assyrian monks, who arrived in the country at the same time and preached the name of Christ. The monasteries
are located in a semi-desert and consist of 19 religious buildings. Nowadays, the complex is active though, over the centuries it was destroyed and robbed bi invaders. Here you have time to explore entire complex of David Gareja with its rare frescoes and overlook the border of Azerbaijan. After exploring the area, driver will drive you back to Tbilisi with the same road and drops
you off at the hotel of your stay.
